First I used a wet, broad paint brush to streak Marina Mist over the Watercolour Paper. I let that dry thoroughly. After stamping the image of the tree I quickly spread clear embossing powder over it before the ink dried. That way, after using my heat gun to melt the powder, the ink would be protected from the wet embossing paste I planned to spread over areas of the branches.
Using a paint brush to "paint" the fluid embossing past, it was easy to control how much "snow" I wanted on each branch. Once it had dried, however, I found I had to go over the areas a second time in order to get the look I was after, but the results were much more like soft snow than simply using the embossing paste.
The three snowflakes are cut with dies from the Seasonal Layers thinlets set. I cut the large one from Silver Foil and a smaller one from Whisper White cardstock. Then I cut one more smaller one from Soft Sky cardstock for balance.
